Trust and safety
Broidry is built by an embroiderer, for embroiderers. These are the rules the platform runs on, and every one of them is something you can check for yourself. If we ever fall short, tell us on the report form.
When someone reports a listing, a shop, or a review, a real person reads it and decides what happens. Broidry never suspends a shop automatically. If we ever remove something of yours, we tell you what was removed and why, and you can respond. The rules we enforce are public: the prohibited content policy and the copyright policy.
Card payments on Broidry are processed by Stripe, the payment company behind millions of online checkouts. The card form is Stripe's own secure page, so the card number goes straight to Stripe, and Broidry never sees it and never stores it. Shops can also record payments they take outside Broidry, like Venmo, PayPal, cash, or check; those never involve entering a card number here at all.
Broidry automatically saves a complete copy of its database every 6 hours and keeps the 14 most recent copies, so a bad day can't erase your shop's history. Separately, you can download your own full backup any time from your dashboard's Security page: your orders, quotes, customers, and expenses as a spreadsheet and a complete archive, plus every photo and stitch file you uploaded.
Only the person who placed an order can review it. Shops can reply publicly to any review, but they can never edit or delete a buyer's words, and we never remove a review just because it is negative. When you see stars on a Broidry shop, every one came from a real purchase.
Everything a buyer sees, from fonts and thread colors to pickup, shipping, and your return policy, is something you chose to offer. Broidry never turns a setting on for you and never changes what your listings offer.
Every shop on Broidry is an independent embroidery business stitching real thread on real fabric, to order. Broidry does include AI tools, and they exist to help the embroiderer: drafting listing words, polishing photos, reading messy order requests. The embroidery itself is never AI, and moderation decisions are made by people.
Your designs, your photos, and your customers belong to you. You can download everything from your dashboard's Security page whenever you like, and if you ever leave, you take it all with you. Broidry is software for your shop. Your buyers and their information stay yours.
